Hi there everyone.  Just a quick update to let you know what I have been up to and where things are going this year.

Well, it is 2012, and I am very excited.  I think this is going to be a huge year for many people on so many levels. Our planet and the human race as a collective is in the midst of great change.  I feel a great sense of forward thinking, abundance and despite what you are seeing in the news, harmony.  Let it all begin!!

At the end of 2011, I began a series of whimsical holiday creations.  They were so much fun and really set the tone for me. Many of the characters were affirmation type images (Believe, Wish, etc).  Things we all need to strive for.  And, while the holidays are behind us, I will be releasing several more of these jolly characters.  They just make me happy.

I also began working with inks and watercolor.  I've use watercolor in the past, but kind of left it by the wayside.  I think I may have found something that truly appeals to my heart and soul as an artist.  I love using inks and watercolor pencils.  Having come from graphite pencil drawings, the transition to watercolor pencil was very fluid.  The use of ink gave me the illustration look I longed for in my art.  I love the work of Trina Schart Hyman, who is definitely one of my all time influences.  The use of inks with watercolor reminds me of her renderings, and once again, that makes me very happy.  And, speaking of being happy and the direction of things...I just finished up an ink and watercolor image, which is in my etsy store.  The image is Oceania, which was created last year as a drawing.  I decided it might be fun to create five limited edition 9x12 ink and watercolor renderings of the image.  So, the first one is up for sale.  The image also got me thinking...for those of you that follow astrology, I am a Libra, and Neptune has been in my sign since 98.  Neptune, I believe is moving into Pisces next month.  I couldn't help but imagine this image being perfect for an astrology deck or perhaps tarot. I love astrology, and thought it would be fun to create images around the horoscope signs/planets (as in Saturn has been in my sign FOREVER~thank goodness it is leaving this October), etc.  Anyway, below is the image.  Hope you like it.  So, you may be seeing more of these.
